BEAUTY BLOG: Madison Reed promises Healthier Hair Dye

Yay!  My first beauty blog here on Style or Else!  I've been meaning to add Beauty blogs and reviews for a while.  As some of you already know, beauty is a huge part of my life.  I am the founder/creator of Mon Ennui Cosmetics (everything is handmade, cruelty-free and vegan) and have ultra sensitive skin with lots of allergies.

I dye my hair.   Often.  There have been dyes that have made my entire scalp break out in hives (both professional and drugstore) and it has been very difficult to pinpoint exactly which ingredient was the culprit.  Despite this, I still love dying my hair.  There is nothing more rejuvenating and uplifting, to me, than looking in the mirror and seeing new hair.  It's like hitting the reset button on my self-esteem and flushing away all of the stress and awfulness of whatever I've been going through.

I like changing my hair color to suit my mood or the season.  Recently I made the long journey back from jet black to red again (which was no easy task and took me two months to accomplish).  Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect high quality gentle dye to maintain a specific color for a while.

I recently found out about Madison Reed
They specialize in hair color that is high quality and better for your health.
Not to mention... cruelty free and gentle for sensitive skin, like mine!
Added bonus:  They are a woman owned business (which are my favorite).

So, I'm going to order some dye from them and report back with a review.

Something you might enjoy about the Madison Reed website is that they walk you through a brief hair questionnaire to help you find the color that suits you best!   I'm personally torn, right now, between the Genova and Vesuvius Reds (I think I might go with Genova, it's more coppery and light which I am seriously digging, right now).

Madison Reed also features products like color gloss (a semi-permanent color booster), color enhancing shampoo and conditioner... and a root touch-up powder that is allegedly sweat/waterproof!

I'm really excited to try out their dye!

Have you tried Madison Reed?  How did you like their products?
Let me know in the comments!
