This pretty wrap dress from unknown brand Flor is exclusive to the Gwynnie Bee collection. If you haven’t heard of Gwynnie Bee… it’s like Netflix for plus-sized clothing. It’s a great way to try out new brands and figure out your size among the various plus brands out there. You can get a month free (I recommend getting the 3 item plan). And, it’s easy to cancel.
Okay… now I’m done tooting the Gwynnie Bee horn.
This dress has some great things going for it. The length is nice (I rarely find dresses that hit at or below the knee, on me… darn this long body!)… I love the print on the fabric (it’s a collage of photo-real flowers and peacock feathers). I love the use of color.
I also love that the neckline has elastic in it (I think this should be a trend in *all* wrap dresses forever!).
I hate the fabric they printed on. It’s like a thin microfiber washcloth. It’s a decidedly 70s feeling. It isn’t uncomfortable. I just don’t personally like the texture’s weight or feel. It’s almost gauze-like.
Husband also mentioned that he didn’t care much for the “t-shirt sleeves”. I do think that the sleeves are an odd length. A little shorter or a 3/4 sleeve would have made it overall much more va-va-voom and less dowdy.
But, see! That’s the GLORY of Gwynnie Bee! I’m not stuck with this dress. I just send it away and something new comes in its place.

Poppy And Bloom: Sketch Me If You Can In Canary Yellow
This beautiful canary colored retro-inspired dress is made by American made brand Poppy and Bloom.
Yellow is one of those iffy colors that can either make me look creamy and pink… or it can make me look like an undead nightmare. This beautiful shade of canary brought out the pinks in my skin and the copper in my hair.
I am normally not a big fan of boat neck style dresses (I find them too constricting). But, the “V” cut on the back (not pictured) makes it quite comfortable and ensures that the top of the dress will flatter a variety of body types.
The bodice is fully lined (a detail that ensures your dress is going to last… which is absolutely something you want in a modern/retro style dress that isn’t going to go out of style the next time the weather gets warm).
The black crinoline by Malco Modes gives it a bit of flare/shape.
